Biography:
Rob began his career as a Registered Representative for a Fortune 100 financial services company in Chicago, Illinois. After several years, Rob left CIGNA and co-founded a financial consulting firm in the affluent Chicago suburb of Oak Brook, Illinois. Rob provided financial counseling services to executives, professionals, and closely held business owners on myriad issues, such as, estate, business, and tax planning.
After nearly 14 years in the financial services industry, Rob relocated to Michigan to pursue a legal career specializing in tax representation before the IRS, state, and local taxing authorities. Rob obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1999. He then obtained the prestigious post Doctor degree of Master of Laws in Taxation from Wayne State University Law School in 2006 - a degree that only a handful of lawyers possess in Kalamazoo County.
Rob’s tax practice is national in scope. He represents people in multiple states. Rob is authorized to practice before the United States Tax Court and the United States Court of Federal Claims. He has also practiced in most of the courts in Southwest Michigan. In addition to the practice of tax law, Rob handles cases in family law, estate and business planning, probate, and general civil litigation.
Rob is a member of many professional organizations, including the State and Local Bar Associations. He has presented many seminars and has lectured in tax representation before the IRS, tax and estate planning, complex trusts, and business organizations.
Amy R. Hoffman- Legal Assistant:
Amy has worked for Rob as a Legal Secretary/Assistant since 2005. She graduated from Kalamazoo Valley Community College with a degree in Business Administration. Her responsibilities include: Corporate and LLC entity organizations; annual corporate updates; working with clients; preparing estate planning documents; preparing IRS forms and documents; and other miscellaneous projects.
